Sweet Holy Spirit

Sweet Holy Spirit
Draw nigh unto me
For I am in need Lord
To be nurtured by Thee

Sweet Holy Spirit
Wipe away all my tears
Help me to lay down
All my worries and fears

Sweet Holy Spirit
Draw nigh unto me
For I am in need Lord
To be nurtured by Thee

Sweet Holy Spirit
Oh how I love you
I just need to know Lord
That You love me too

Sweet Holy Spirit
Draw nigh unto me
For I am in need Lord
To be nurtured by Thee.

I cared for you my sister
As though you were mine
I made all your bottles
On which you did dine

I cared for you my sister
I taught you all your words
Later we would go outside
And serenade all the birds

I cared for you my sister
Got you off to school each day
And after school was over
In the yard, we would play

I cared for you my sister
I watched you as you grew
Now I wander where the time went
As the years by us flew

I cared for you my sister
When you became a wife
You were just a child yourself
And it cut me life a knife

I cared for you my sister
When your marriage went awry
I held you in my arms
As your heart began to cry

I cared for you my sister
Down through all the years
Through all you trials and trouble
Through worries and your fears

I cared for you my sister
When cancer came your way
I marveled at your bravery
With your head held high that day

I’ll care for you my sister
It’s really not a task
It’s just the love I have for you
You never have to ask

So take my hand, dear sister
Life won’t get us down
For we have the secret
God’s love is what we found.

Take Time

Take time to tell your loved ones
That you love them so
For you never know just when
You’ll have to let them go

Take time to tell your friends
How enriched they’ve made your life
Perhaps it will encourage them
To make it through their strife.

Take time to stop and smell
Each rose along the way
Store them in your memory bank
For that cold and cloudy day

Take time to enjoy this life
Don’t work and not play
For life is but a vapor
And then it’s gone away

I’ll stop and smell the roses
Take the time to love and rest
So that when I leave this world
I’ll know that I’ve been blessed.

The journey’s not so long
When friends are by your side
To love and uphold you
Away from dangers tide

The journey’s not so long
If your eyes you open wide
To see the love and joy
That abounds on every side

The journey’s not so long
When others I put first
For I know that it is possible
Things could be worse

The journey’s not so long
When I don’t dwell on “me”
For when I think of others
My troubles I don’t see

I want to know what love is
Will I ever be loved again
I want to know what love is
Coming from deep within

At night I lay an wonder
Does he ever think of me
Will he ever come and hold me
While into his eyes I see

I want to know what love is
Will I ever be loved again
I want to know what love is
Coming from deep within

So off to sleep I slumber
Ever so forlorn
Longing to be loved
All night until the morn

There is absolutely nothing
as beautiful as a starry night
after everything has settled down.
The peaceful, quiet, and beauty
of the starry night settles
around your soul and softly whispers
that somewhere out under that beautiful pale moonlight,
is everything you have ever dreamed or hoped for….

Now to find that someone who
Is out there
Waiting
Waiting
I am here

Let Me

Let me look with your eyes
For all eternity
And see as your heart cries
With the love you have for me

Let me listen with your ears
As you whisper I love you
Then there will be no fears
And I’ll know your love is true

Let me feel with your hands
While you caress my cheek
Loosening all the bands
To this the love that you seek

Let me kiss with your lips
So tenderly touching mine
Then of this nectar I can sip
Through out the end of time

Let me walk with your feet
Into the caverns of my heart
So I can feel your heart beat
And never more depart.

Love is a many a splendored thing
Or so I’ve heard them say
But I find myself completely afraid
Of loving you this way.

It is not that I don’t love you
For surely you know I do
It’s just that I’ve been so hurt
By someone I loved so true

They say that time will surely heal
All the pieces of your heart
As soon at this takes place in me
Perchance then we can start

I really hope you understand
What I am going through
As I try to come to grips with
What I’m feeling now for you

How can I be a princess
If I do not have a crown
And how can I be perfect
When my many flaws abound

I wish I could see through your eyes
And see what er’ it is you see
For every time I pass the mirror
I see nothing pretty about me

I know I have a loving heart
And I choose to love all men
Perhaps this is what you see
That comes from deep within

Whatever the rhyme or reason
You fell in love with me
I will do my best to cherish it
Through out eternity

WHAT CAN I GIVE

What can I give this King of Glory
Who did so much for me?
By coming to this world below
In such humility.

For in a stable he was born
Amongst the cows and sheep
With nothing more than swaddling clothes
His body warm to keep.

I wonder if the animals
Felt different on that night
While they gazed upon this little child
Filled with glory and such light.

Could they tell, did they know
Who in that manager lay
So tiny, yet so heavenly
Upon the straw and hay

Oh how the shepherds long ago
Must have stood in glorious fright
They listened to this heavenly choir
Then hastily took their flight

To come upon this wondrous babe
As He lay on Mary’s breast
I wonder what ran through her mind
As her body tried to rest.

What was it that she pondered on,
What went through her head
Did she have simple peace of mind,
Or was it full of dread

Surely she knew this baby
Was different from the rest
Did she realize that someday
She would go through such a test

How did her heart withstand it
As she watched him brutally beat
The tears must have flowed like rain
Watching her son go through this ‘heat’

The cross, the cross, that horrible cross
So hideous for all to see
Became my statue of Liberty
Setting my sin sick heart free

Yes… what can I give this King of Glory
Who willingly died for me
On bended knee, I’ll surrender all
Pick up my cross, then follow Thee.
